one.month.check-up

Today was Sawyer's one month check up with Dr. Goodman and with that comes a shot. He was such a trooper. The best part of the visit was seeing how much he has grown these first 30 days of life. It is hard to believe he has gained more than 2 lbs and grown 2 inches in such a short amount of time. Looks like he is going to be tall like his Daddy!
  • Weight: 10 lbs. 5 oz. (65%)
  • Length: 23 inches (92%)
  • Head Circumference: 40%

way.too.hot

This has been the hottest summer ever, or so it seems. Today Raleigh reached a heat index of 111 degrees! But one thing that comes with summer is home grown 'maters. My friend, Stephanie, brought over some tomatoes from her garden this morning and visited with Sawyer.

Nothing says summer like a window sill with tomatoes and daisies!

one.month.birthday

WOW, does a month fly by or what!? This time one month ago today we were getting ready to meet this precious lil baby boy that we call Sawyer. What a miracle it has been to see this whole process of pregnancy, labor, & delivery unfold into our own child. He is growing up so fast...his one month check up is Friday...check back for his stats!

Sitting up in his chair

Great Aunt Meg and Great Uncle John made us dinner tonight...yummy!
Sawyer's one month birthday cake..thanks Great Aunt Meg for thinking of this special day.

Date.Night

Tonight we had our first date since Sawyer was born. Mae Mae and Papa babysat while we enjoyed a one week late anniversary dinner at River Pub. Granted we didn't travel far for dinner, it was nice to be out just the two of us...and no we did not talk about Sawyer...except once! We are looking forward to the next date night at Sushi Blues while Sarah and Ellis babysit.

First Trip to Greensboro

This past weekend we made our first trip of many to Greensboro for a "Sip 'n See" hosted by my mom; also known as Sawyer's Grammie. We had a great time visiting with family friends that came by to meet Sawyer.
Sawyer in his sweet outfit waiting for visitors.

Sawyer's first visit to Stamey's for the finest BBQ in Greensboro. It was the week of Mr. Stamey's birthday, so you know what that means....BLACKBERRY COBBLER! Yummy!!

Dreaming of his first meal at Stameys...BBQ sandwich, peach cobbler, and Cheerwine.

Funny of the Day

Earlier this week we happened to look out onto our back deck and see this squirrel sunbathing. I could not help but laugh...how hilarious is this??

Four.Years

We have been married FOUR years today....2 houses + dog + baby...and here we are!

I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

So, I'm back!

After a couple of weeks without a post, I’m ready to return to the blogging world and introduce to you our amazing baby boy, Sawyer.

Doesn't he look just like his Daddy?...I'll post a baby picture of Ragan so you can see for yourself.

For the past few weeks, I’ve spent my time soaking up every ounce of joy and happiness this tiny little baby has shown us. My days are full of watching his eyelashes grow as he naps; memorizing the many facial expressions he makes within a 10 second time frame while dreaming; searching for and rubbing the softest and most delicate skin on his body...located on the bottom of his feet and his belly.

I could go on for days (and days and days) about how wonderful motherhood is, but I don’t want to overdo it on my first post. Over the next few post, I will definitely share with you pictures, videos, and all that we have been up to while we were “away”… but for now, here are a few.
